Adam Nicholas Dotsey was born on March 14, 1983, ten days after my and our dad’s birthday, in Lexington, Kentucky. He is the third of four Dotsey kids. When he was about six months old we packed up and moved to Durham, North Carolina. From there we moved to Bahama then Rougemont, just moving further and further out into the country. Adam and I don’t look much alike, but we’re both nerds and have a lot of the same mannerisms.
What I remember most about Adam when he was little is Erin sitting on him and what a fat little baby he was. He also kept to himself a lot. When our mom, Rhonda Dotsey, would look for him she would call his name and he wouldn’t say anything. She would have to call to him: “Adam, say ‘what,’” to get any response out of him. He also would tell us that he only loved fish.
Adam joined the Army Reserves and then went to Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, North Carolina. He likes animals, reading and playing video games. He currently has a Papillon, Dobja, and a black cat named T’Challa, named after the comic book hero the Black Panther. (I helped them come up with that!) He works doing some sort of IT stuff.
